Lourdes Morante-Mieses
California based artist Lourdes Morante-Mieses is a visual artist, free-lance curator and educator. She has achieved mastery in a wide array of media including charcoal, pastel, oil, acrylic, mixed media, murals, ceramics, sculpture and installations among others. Her work reflects her curiosity and interest in contemporary methods and materials for image making.
Born in Lima, Perú, she was drawn to art since childhood, having left a number of works in her country.
Since her moved to California in 2000, she has been immersed in the Bay Area art world. She has participated in several selected group shows and solo and two-person exhibitions, some of the most prominent being “Breaking Free” at Kaleid Gallery and “Joint exhibition of Painting and Sculpture” at the Consulate General of Perú in San Francisco.
Mrs. Morante-Mieses is a member of Works San Jose GalIn 2015, she became an artist-in-residence at Kaleid Gallery in San Jose, where she continues to exhibit as a resident to this day. Her works are also found in private collections.
She run Gallery 2905, at Universal Media Access in San Jose, for over two years and has curated art exhibitions at Trianon Theater, Art Ark Gallery and San Jose International Performing and Visual Arts Festival organized by Beacon Artists Association, in San Jose, CA. among others.
Mrs. Morante-Mieses teaching practice includes Pacific Art League, Palo Alto, CA., Montalvo Arts Center, Saratoga CA., St. Mary’s School, Gilroy, CA, Circulo Cultural, Redwood City, CA., The Forum, Sunnyvale, CA., Silver Creek Adult Center, San Jose, CA. and Mieses Art Studio, San Jose, CA., among others.
Mrs. Morante-Mieses holds a bachelor’s degree in Radio, TV, Film and Theater at San Jose State University and an Associate degree in Studio Art at Foothill College, California.
Currently, Mrs. Morante-Mieses is working on an upcoming solo show on ecological awareness and the beauty of nature.

Trabaja en una variedad de medios que incluyen carboncillo, pastel, óleo, acrílico, técnica mixta, murales, cerámica, escultura e instalaciones, entre otros. Su trabajo refleja su curiosidad e interés por los métodos y materiales contemporáneos para la creación de imágenes.
